MS4 Stormwater Management Plan - Public Review and Comment Opportunity
The City of Kennett invites all residents to review and provide comments on our Municipal Separate Storm Sewer System (MS4) Stormwater Management Plan.
The current plan will expire on September 31, 2026, and the new 5 year permit cycle will begin on October 1, 2026. Below you will find our current plan and a draft for the Comprehensive Master General Permit.
The plan will be available for public review and feedback beginning 8/14/2026. It can be found on the City of Kennett website https://cityofkennettmo.com/
The MS4 Stormwater Management Plan outlines the city’s strategies for reducing stormwater pollution, maintaining infrastructure, and promoting public education and outreach on stormwater issues. Copies of the plan will be accessible at City Hall and on the official city website starting 8/14/2026.
There will be a public meeting for discussion held at 1:00 p.m. on Tuesday, September 15, 2026, at City Hall, located at 200 Cedar St.
Public comments will be accepted through 9/14/2026. Please direct all feedback, questions, or concerns to Erica Campbell at stormwater@cityofkennettmo.com or by calling 573-888-9001.
The City of Kennett is committed to protecting our waterways and reducing pollution through its Stormwater Management Program. This program works to control runoff from rain and storms, prevent containments from entering local streams and rivers, and promote clean water practices throughout the community.
Key efforts include regular inspection and maintenance of drainage systems, public education on pollution prevention, and enforcement of regulations that reduce harmful discharges into storm drains.
Residents and businesses can help by properly disposing of waste, minimizing the use of chemicals, and reporting any illegal dumping or drainage concerns.
